"WAMi Festival review"

“The ‘supergroup’ vibe of The Ghost Hotel helped the cause more so, with a ‘four frontmen’ attack that gave the band a wealth of variety, courtesy of its more-than-impressive membership of Perth music stalwarts. The band meshed together pop, indie, country and a healthy dose of rock’n’roll, though never sounded disjointed in spite of having several angles. They were, in fact, fuckin’ rad.” – Xpress Magazine - Xpress Magazine

Bio

THE GHOST HOTEL
Featuring some of the Perth original music scene's most respected songwriters (including members of Red Jezebel & Capital City) The Ghost Hotel are a five-piece mixture of rough and ready guitar noise, acoustic twang and pop sensibility. The current lineup of the band formed in 2008 following various on and off incarnations based around founding member Aaron Gibson’s songwriting following the demise of his previous band, Team Jedi.

In late 2009, the band released its self titled EP on the Perth-based label Walking Horse Records. Since then the word's been spreading, leading to performances at the West Coast Blues and Roots festival in 2010 and Southbound 2011 and supports for the likes of Crowded House, Elbow, Gomez, Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan, Bob Evans, Youth Group and Wagons. Additionally, The Ghost Hotel scored a support slot on the first show of Powderfinger‘s farewell tour in Newcastle courtesy of triple j Unearthed, and a five-star review from the station’s Music Director Richard Kingsmill.
The band also received a nomination in the annual WAMi awards this year for ‘Favourite Country Act’, and won the WAM Song Of The Year contest’s country section for their latest single "Juliette", which is the first taste of the debut album from The Ghost Hotel, coming out early 2012.

So come and stay for a while The Ghost Hotel make the noise and the quiet for lovers of guitar driven pop-rock and country.
