"'Wont Bother Me" 4 stars"

THE GLASS
Won’t Bother Me
4 stars
The work of Irish ex-pats in New York Dominique and Glen Brady, “Bother” first surfaced on dominique’s fine ‘Sound Of Young New York ‘ mix cd last year and has been remixed competently by Putsch 79 and 20/20 Soundsystem on this new release. However, it’s the original that still shines. Taking all the best bits from the legacy of the late 80’s, ‘Bother’ features a new wave vocal and New Romantic synths over a backing track that unites spiky punk-funk beats with classic Chicago house bassline. It may seem like a weird mish-mash, but “Won’t Bother Me’ is that all too rare beast, a club track that you can hum along the way to work in the morning.

Ever since The Glass released their first single “Won’t Bother Me”, they have been garnering rave reviews in the dance music press, turning djs into fans, and their peers into supporters. Mylo remixed the bands second single and Tiga won’t stop listening to their record! The band has already played with The Go! Team, DJ Hell, The Bravery, Mylo, and The Glimmers.

The band is comprised of Dominique Keegan and Glen Brady aka Dj Wool (both established djs on the New York and international club scene). Originally conceived as a studio production team, they quickly evolved into a live band (vocals, guitars, drums, bass, live samples, scratching, ) tackling indie dance production with pop vocals and a punk sensibility. Their loud and fast stage show is aimed straight at the dancefloor.

KCRW, BBC, and Indie 103 are already championing The Glass.
Their songs have featured on “The Sound of Young New York” compilations 1, 2 and 3 which is also compiled and mixed by the band. Their tracks have also appeared on compilations by Global Underground and Renaissance. The band have remix and production credits for Rinocerose, REM, John Selway, Les Clones, Filur, INXS, Howie B, Just Jack and more. Give us a ring to find out more about The Glass.
