Bio

The GodBody’s soul-infused rap binds Sense’s intelligent, socially relevant flows to banging street soundscapes courtesy of MostArt. Their vision is to secure their place in a hip-hop world dominated by materialism and violence as a group that represents social awareness and musical distinction.
Dawaun Parker (Amadeus MostArt) and Trevor Calderon (Inner Sense) came together in 1999. Bound by a common interest in acts like Nas, Dr. Dre, Biggie, Wu-Tang, A Tribe Called Quest, and The Fugees – a period MostArt refers to as “The Golden Age of Hip-hop” - The GodBody was born. Sense grew up traveling across the United States, absorbing ammo to feed his lyrical weapon; MostArt’s upbringing instilled an adept musical ear, eventually earning him a full tuition scholarship at Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music for his piano playing.
While at school, The GodBody recruited Berklee’s finest musicians, forming their band The GB’s. Their captivating live performances earned them fans across the Northeast, highlighted by record-breaking performances on the Berklee College campus. The band proved themselves continually around the Northeast in venues ranging from small clubs to theatres; showcasing their talent to crowds from urban scenes to the college campus and everyone in between. Excelling in the live aspect and studio proficiencies has helped round the GodBody’s musical existence as a whole.
Presently, Sense and MostArt reside in Los Angeles, CA, where they are recording their upcoming debut album, We Are The GodBody, to be released Summer 2007. By day, Dawaun produces and performs with Dr. Dre and Aftermath Entertainment. Just over a year out of college, Dawaun has three #1 albums under his belt, supplying work on the latest albums from T.I., Busta Rhymes, and Jay-Z. He has also collaborated with 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, D.O.C., Mark Batson, and others.
Sense recalls “I was influenced by the early 90’s era of hip hop and didn’t like the left turn that it took in the late 90’s. People needed to be aware of the movements that they were being a part of through the music they listened to and sided with.” Very aware of the music they are creating, The GodBody views hip-hop as a universal language through which they convey a message of greater good to the community; a message that rebels against the juvenile proliferation of bling, cars, hoes, and drugs. MostArt describes the band’s role in their listener’s lives by saying, “We just want to make real dope music and bring some of that real hip-hop back. We want to change the perception of what hip-hop is, and what music is as a whole. What the public is being sold is not the truth.” The GodBody are set to leave their mark in music and fill the hole evident in today’s hip-hop world.
