Bio

Biography Bishop, born Stevenson Benoit, was born October 3rd, 1982 in Miami, Fl. He is the son of a preacher. At age 2, Bishop moved down to Homestead with his parents where he spent majority of his childhood. At age 5, his mother sent him to New Jersey to live with his aunt because of the poverty stricken living situation his parents were going through living in Homestead. A year later he rejoined his parents back in Homestead. Bishop attended Campbell Drive Elementary, Campbell Drive Middle, and Homestead Senior High School. He joined the marching band the summer before his eighth grade year and was 1st trumpet. Bishop showed an uncanny ability to pick up and learn any instrument quickly and efficiently. Bishop currently plays the trumpet, drum set, clarinet, saxophone, mellophone, french horn, trombone, baritone, and keyboard. In 2001, Bishop joined the US Army and served his country out of Fort Drum New York station with the 10th MP Battalion. It is then Bishop began experiment with rap. Bishop recorded everything out of his room with the help of a laptop and Magix Music Maker. A year later Bishop released several mixtapes mentioned below. Growing up in the church affected Bishop's music. It was a constant struggle to put out quality music for the public to like and to still incorporate where he came from. In 2003, Bishop started the company, P-Squad Entertainment, and manages several artists in the pursuit of their dream career. Artists currently on the roster: Bishop, Q-Tee Blaze, Jay Gutta, Calico, Scooby, and Lady E. Bishop draws his inspiration from several different places. One of the most influential would be the trials dealing with being haitian, a preacher's son, and living in Homestead. His role models include NAS, Kanye West, Sean Carter (Jay-Z), and Sean P. Diddy Combs. He chose these individuals as role models because of their lyrical ability, business sense, or their overall consistency in being in the public eye. So what sets Bishop apart from the rest of the industry? Bishop is a very ambitious individual. He hardly sleeps because he is busy chasing his dream career. Bishop's lyrical prowess on the mic is uncanny. On one song Bishop may sound like he hails from the south and on the very next song you would think that Bishop came from another region. A funny nickname some people have for Bishop is "Twishop" mixing Twista and Bishop due to Bishop's ability to accelerate very rapidly on a song. Bishop doesn't have a signature style that you can place in a category with others. Bishop's signature style is being the untamed, free, lyrical assassin defecating on mics across the country. You know a true Bishop album from the different styles on the tracks. Bishop truly is an entertainer, an artist, a business man, a beast extraordinaire rolled all up into one.

Bishop was the founder of P-Squad. He started off as a solo rapper then joined another rapper by the name of Thrilla and became the rapping duo known as the 66 Clips. In early 2006 they decided to go solo and Bishop continued building P-Squad Entertainment. Through the help of cyber space, Bishop was able to recruit some of the finest talent in the local area to add to the record label. At the time, Bishop had a hot single out by the name of How We Ride. Bishop decided to make a remix to the song and included Jay Gutta (rapper), Calico (rapper), and Q-Tee (rapper/singer). The remix caught fire in the public and throughout various parts of the country. Even though they were all solo artists, they were quickly referred to as Dem P-Squad Boiiz and the name just stuck.

You may wonder what sets them apart from any other rap group.

Bishop derives his inspiration from intellectual conscious rappers such as NAS and Mos Def. He was born and raised in the south but his rhyme and delivery states otherwise. He is versatile on the mic and can switch up the flow at the drop of a hat and instantly speed to the likes of Twista and such.

Calico has a New Orleans swing to his delivery and flow albeit he was born and raised in Miami, FL. He is young but his lyrics display that of an individual who has been around for quite a long time.

Jay Gutta, the youngest in the group, is a lyrical phenom. He is inspired by the likes of Lil Wayne and 50 Cent and Jay-Z. He is very ambitious and eager to jump on any project. He is currently working to put together his own sub-company called Paypa Chasers Ent.

Q-Tee Blaze is the singer/rapper in the group. He has been aphiliated with Pretty Ricky but fell on bad terms before they were recognized. His rap name is Cassanova or Yung Cass. He has a unique sound that you do not hear often within the industry. He is currently running his own entertainment company as well by the name of Cuttaboy Ent.

Separate, each is a deadly weapon. .. lyrical assassins in their own target market. Together, they for the weapon of mass destruction known simply as Dem P-Squad Boiiz. Know that each song is packed to the
