The Goodboys

The Goodboys are a group of three guys whose ambition is as deep as their vintage record collections. Formed in 2000 they have been consistently turning out great tunes for packed club audiences in SoCal ever since. Six years and three self produced LPs later they are somehow still running strong just below the radar. Each successive album mines deeper through the vaults of 60s and 70s rock and protopunk to bring forth quality material rarely heard from today's disposable rock acts. The boys obviously make their music organically the old fashioned way, late at night in smoke filled bedrooms next to a pile of bargain bin vinyl rather than in sterile big city studios and lock out rentals. They do not intend to write the next big dumb hit or crusade for the cause of long dead rock and roll days. The aim instead is to absorb and transmit the undiluted full strength energy found in music made when rock was an exciting medium to be traveled and explored. When the sound was young and blooming the formula was still unknown. The roots beneath were waiting to be uncovered and the package was still open to new design. The Goodboys are commited to learning the trade of early rock in order to someday chart new territory of their own. Until recently the process was still in it's infancy but now the boys are primed to begin the quest set forth. While others seem content to merely rip off, this particular band is most certainly not. Grab a bottle, roll a few and join The Goodboys on their trip now. One can never be certain where the road will lead and that is the very reason to start. You got something better to do?
