Bio

The Good Luck Affair is the brain-child of singer/songwriter Matt Morse, a longtime veteran of the Long Island music scene. Morse made a name for himself in a band called Blind Insight which received a tremendous amount of attention from the Long Island rock press for their youth and musical talent. After seven years of making records and performing, the group disbanded, due to artistic differences.

Morse continued writing while attending SUNY Stony Brook as a political science major. Influenced by his education and society in general, his song writing reached new levels of musical and lyrical depth.

Upon graduating college Morse jumped back into the studio to record the five songs that became the Good Luck Affair EP. The EP was completed at VU DU Studios in Freeport New York with producers Mike Watts (producer of As Tall as Lions and The Junior Varsity) and Rich Leigey (former bass player of The Smash Up and Wheatus).

The Good Luck Affair is a breath of fresh air to the music industry. The songs are extraordinarily melodic and catchy, complimented by lyrics that define the age we live in. The social critique presented contains a depth rarely reached by any other current artists. The lyrical content ranges from war and global warming to coming-of-age in a time of complacency and self-indulgence. It is rare that a band so musically accessible can have so much depth.
