"Rock Review"

Mixing alternative rock with a heavy helping of jazz, and even throwing in ska and reggae at times, the Good Night provides a set of joyous, freeform, and hook-filled numbers sure to appeal to anyone.

The Good Night successfully integrates a number of influences into tunes that rollick with enthusiasm and creativity. Easily the most impressive aspect of this debut is its constant adherence to pop sensibilities, despite the changing background of the surrounding music. With its double-vocalist setup, The Good Night manages to be a sort of Dave Matthews Band, yet with constant reinvention, as the exciting infusion of other elements, such as the bounce of reggae or the trot of ska, keeps the music fresh and new. - 2walls webzine

"New Music Review"

The Good Night has successfully compiled an entertaining and innovative work of art. Accessible enough to be on the soundtrack to a summer movie, yet squarely grounded in the realm of invention and self-made excellence. - Bay Area Metro

"Very Coolness"

This album is funny and depressing at the same time. - Fanjap

"Review"

Ferocious fun. Imagine an open-air church where the pastor is on mushrooms and the congregation piles the pews up into a bonfire. This record is a huge leap forward from the self-conscious cleverness of the Giggle. Each song is an allegory. Silly and stunning. - cd baby

"Singing In Tongues"

Live, the Good Night's musical adventurousness translates into an epically big sound. They're hilarious, too, full of energy. You'd think it would be hard to dance to music that makes so many left turns, but live, every musical moment makes sense. It's organic, and a lot of fun. - Campus Circle

Bio

For nearly ten years The Good Night was known as LA's The Cosmic Giggle. As the Giggle they recorded four full length records. In 2007 they changed their name and made a record with grammy-winning producer J.J. Blair.

Tom Jackson (vocals, guitar) and Greg McFall (bass, vocals) began playing music together in high school in San Jose. At the time, Alan Chang (keys) was a a pre-pubescent piano prodigy at a nearby junior high. Greg met Brad Ranola (drums) in college, and the band began to take shape, playing its first shows in downtown San Jose during the final months of the 20th century. They've been living in Los Angeles since 2000.

In 2004 Alan became musical director for worldwide superstar Michael Bublé. This new job provided Alan with an opportunity to tour the world several times and to cowrite some of Michael's biggest hits, including "Home". But despite his success with Michael, Alan has remained loyal to the Good Night, and has vowed to quit his "day job" when he is presented with the opportunity to be truly creative with the band he loves most.

The Good Night has over eighty original songs.
