Bio

The Good People's The Saint (Producer) and Emskee (Emcee), began working together in the fall of 2005 after Saint heard Emskee rhyme on WBAI's Underground Railroad (the longest running hip-hop show in radio history). Sharing a dedication to innovative production and meaningful lyrics, Saint and Emskee became fast friends, and their musical collaboration has produced three full-length albums on the Japanese indie label Goon Trax, as well as a handful of top-20 singles for college radio, and several music videos. Saint and Emskee are currently recording their fourth studio album and performing select shows in the New York area.

Originally from Teaneck, New Jersey, Emskee now resides in Brooklyn. In addition to writing and rhyming for the Good People, he is a highly respected DJ in New York and around the World. He has spun at many New York hot spots such as Joe's Pub, Union Square Lounge and the Knitting Factory. In August of 2011, Emskee will make his fourth club appearance in England, and he as also rocked turntables in Russia, Venezuela, Mexico, Canada, and throughout the US. For the past 10 years, Emskee has been the host of a bi-monthly dance classic special, The Rare Radio Show on WBAI 99.5. He has been a headliner on the Underground Railroad Show (also on WBAI) since 1999 and this past year, the program was named "best radio show" by the New York Press. Emskee has also been written about in XXL, Time Out New York, The Observer, New York Magazine and the Daily News. Emskee got his start in the music industry in the early 90's, when his homemade mix tapes found their way to the airwaves in the hands of New York radio's most iconic DJ's such as Red Alert, Wendy Williams, Kid Capri, Funkmaster Flex and Stretch Armstrong/Bobbito Garcia. In the fall of 2011, Emskee's early radio promos will be released on vinyl by UK indie hip-hop label DWG.

The Saint was born and raised on Long Island. He began rhyming at the age of 12 and began to produce on a serious level at age 17. In his early twenties he attended an audio engineering school, which landed him a job at 7heads record label doing studio work. While there, he slipped some tracks to the higher-ups at the label and they were immediately impressed. He was then given production jobs for artists such as J-Live, Kon and Amir, Wordsworth and Unspoken Heard. With the success of those songs he was then asked to do his first solo album, the critically acclaimed Grown Folk Music. It was a hip-hop soulful house fusion project that had guest appearances by Mr. Man, Grap Luva, Tiombe Lockhart, Vinia Moijica, Reggie Watts and others. A couple years after that release, he put out a mix CD entitled Variety Hour which was mixed by DJ 3D and was a collection of his remixes and past work. So far in his already impressive career, he has worked with and produced for artists such as El Da Sensei, Momentan, Travis Blaque, Mr. Complex, Prince Po, Dumi Right, Kool Kim, Cadence, Muneshine and many others.
