The Good Rub started out as a few young musicians from Orlando getting together to hang out and read jazz-funk tunes written by mostly Tony Venturini and Harrison Light. The hang turned into regular rehearsals, and eventually we booked some shows. We came up with the name and played a few shows and even recorded an instrumental album. Nearly everyone in the band got busy with road gigs or going to conservatory and we found it difficult to get together. At the end of 2007 our lives had stabilized and with a couple of personnel changes we recorded and self-produced our album "We're Starfish". Our sound and performance is more mature, and still retains the youthful good time feel that we're all about.
We sing more than we used to and were continually adding to our book both original music and covers of our favorite influences
