-Southern California based hip-hop group The Gooneez with their three piece band, The Fratelleez, combine an array of rap, rock and punk influences to create upbeat music with a fresh sound.
Andre Abella and Frank Clark make-up The Gooneez. The two cousins started making music in 2003 as a hobby to pass the time until the hobby then became their calling and dream .“We recorded our first demo with a $20 mic, a rewriteable disc, playstation and a 4-track recorder,” Abella recalls, “it didn’t sound too good when we first started recording, but the music we created rose above the quality and people connected with the topics we were talking about.” With that attitude, The Gooneez have built their fan base & buzz over the years the old-fashioned way, by Flooding the internet with material from their first albums Never Say Die & The Key to One-Eyed Willie LP and their mixtape series Outside lookin’ In. Also performing consistently at Hollywood & Southern Californias most premiere music venues such as The Viper Room, The House of Blues Sunset, Key Club, The Knitting Factory, The Grove of Anaheim & 4th & B respectively. Priding themselves on their live show, this duo says their stage presence has set them apart from any other new up-incoming artist. “We understand that new fans who might have not seen us perform before might be in the crowd,” Clark expresses, ” we go hard on stage and hope that after seeing us live, we leave an impression that lasts after the show to create new interest in our music and gain new fans.
