Bio

THE GOT TO GET GOT (TGTGG) formed in Vancouver, BC in the winter of 2006 when Mark Mullane (North of America) temporarily moved to the city to begin working on new material with his former bandmate Mark Colavecchia (North of America).
As the days passed and Mullane's ass print formed a larger groove on Colavecchia's lawn chair cushions, songs began to materialize. They enlisted Chris Vanderlaan and the newly formed band rented a dank practice room and started developing new ideas and blowing the dust off old progressions. Putting their former pedigree aside, they took a crooked eye approach to writing pop music. With only a handful of practices under their belt, Mullane had to leave the land of all-u-can-eat sushi and move back to Toronto.
Soon after, Colavecchia and Vanderlaan headed east to meet up with Mullane and to record demos with Leon Taheny (Germans, Final Fantasy). The group quickly found their sound in songs like "Blood Test" and "No One Riots In The Winter".
Saying yet another goodbye, Colavecchia and Vanderlaan went home to Vancouver to recruited Dan Tompkins (Baby Control) to join them in forming the West Coast chapter of the band. Together they recorded two songs, "No One Riots In The Winter" and "Mass Murder Weekend" for the EP "Canadian Arts Collective Blues/Huge Zig Zag" (Noyes Records, 2007).
Simultaneously, Mullane moved back to Halifax and recorded "Blood Test" and "Tenerife" for the EP with the help of the TGTGG Strictly East Coast band, that features Michael Catano (North of America), Ron Bates (The Memories Attack), Eleanor King (The Just Barelys), Brad Lahead, Jon Dacey, Haley Thomas, Rachael Schwartz, and Andrew Glencross.
In June, Mullane is going out to Vancouver for two weeks to write new songs and start the pre-production on THE GOT TO GET GOT full-length.
In the meantime, TGTGG will be playing the Halifax Pop Explosion, Sappyfest, and other festivals throughout the summer/fall of 2007.
