THE GRAND COULEE...
...is not only the name of an ancient river bed in the high north of the USA, but also the name of this new band with a huge appetite for lavish melodies and poetic lyrics. And just like the glacial waters that once formed the ravine that gave the band its name, THE GRAND COULEE are flooding today’s ears and hearts with its infectious blend of folk, swing and a big dash of indie-pop.
And this is just the sound of them passing by: once you indulge in their music you will find a heap of great stories you immediately want to tell your friends. Like the one about that day where the friendship of Engels & Marx came into peril. Or the one about the arctic explorer Harry McNish and his undying love for - a cat. Or about the posthumous flight of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. And almost in passing, THE GRAND COULEE teach toddlers about the art of walking upright, sing songs about indie-girls in high heels, odes to drunken ballerinas and hymns to the small towns in our heads. THE GRAND COULEE want to float into the open – you’d have to build a dam to stop them.
