"TGM @ The Underbelly"

The Grand Majestic (TGM) did a great gig at Underbelly...The lead singer reminds me a little of a young Sarah Jessica Parker out of that movie L.A. Story, as she has an energy that is infectious and takes you – and her band members – along with her as she moves on the stage in time to the music.

Not that there was much room to move, but all three of the wind section managed to sway in time (somehow or other) as the numbers took hold of the audience. Certainly the audience took it to heart and I have never seen a place where everyone was dancing – many in spite of themselves too! - www.london-charm.com

"TGM supported Californian legends Breakestra @ Brighton's Concorde 2"

...fiery support from The Impellers and Brighton based The Grand Majestic soon had the place getting their soggy feet into gear... I left as soaked in the funk-sweat as I had been by the rain upon my arrival. Good times. - www.brightonfushion.co.uk

Bio

The Grand Majestic are a top funk-inspired pop band hailing from Brighton town. Combining the thrill of feel-good power pop with the swagger of funk, they have entertained packed venues throughout the country and risen quickly to the top of the south-coast music scene.

Fully-equipped to get the party started, the 8-piece group know just how to deliver a catchy pop hook stacked on top of a driving funky groove. TGM melodically stand up to many of todays mainstream pop artists yet give a firm tip of the hat to the old funk maestros we all know and love. In turn finding a modern sound that is unique to themselves.

With a horn section packing more power than an artillery division, The Grand Majestic have more solos than an Italian opera and more pop power than a rocket-propelled disco ball.

In between gigs at London ’s Sound Club, Troubadour, 229 and Underbelly venues, the group supported L.A. funk legends Breakestra and the legendary Freestylers at Brighton's own Concorde 2. They recently had the great pleasure of supporting The Brand New Heavies at Brighton Komedia and after playing at Lovebox Music Festival last year the band are looking to get well involved with the festival circuit this summer.
