Bio
Around April 2007 Lars Fischer met with Björn Rogatti and Hannes Hümmer to get a few songs on stage, that he had written in the past few months. All three knew each other from being active in the local music scene for many years playing with numerous groups, so it didn´t take long until rumors of a new "Supergroup" hit the local alternative radio stations. About a month later The Grand Sports appeared on stage at the Summer Festival for the Nürnberg based Radio Z station and the word quickly spread. Supports for Californian Stoner Legend Fu Manchu, as well as Berlins Earthbend followed quickly after. Not to waste any time the band cramped tons of rare and funky studio gear into a dirty but excellent sounding rehearsal room and recorded 13 songs for their debut album, "Everywhere You Go", including songs by Lars Fischer and Hannes Hümmer, and the signature sound of The Grand Sports, which is pure rock at it´s best with 70s Intensity melodic 80s pop hymns packed into tight 3 min. shape, perfected by a great mastering job at Christoph Beyerleins Separate Sound Studio. While looking for a label to release the finished album including artworks by drummer and comic artist Björn Rogatti, The Grand Sports wrote new songs creating a buttkicking 60 - 90 min. live set, and planning future recordings, so now they´re steamingly hot to conquer the world with pure energetic, yet intelligent rock music straight to the face of a cool and sexy audience
