CD releases are not rare in Nashville. However, a double CD release show featuring a self-proclaimed “queer folk-rock” band and a group of young ladies who consider themselves exceptionally grandmotherly is. Fuzz Face is coming to the Mercy Lounge to debut their first album. This all-male, folk-rock band describes their sound as “fun, twangy and sexy” and is upbeat and fun, not lacking in traditional folk instrumentation. Performing after Fuzz Face are The Granny Whites isan all-girl group who have made a name for themselves playing in Nashville hotspots like 12th and Porter and Mad Donnas. The girls say their music doesn’t fall under any genre, but their soulful vocals and rhythm say otherwise. The Granny Whites’ main gimmick is their ability to add a little “granny” to every song. Meet The Granny Whites
An equally awesome music trailblazer, The Granny Whites make their own genre, mixing traditional guitar, drums, and keys with instrumentation like the ukulele, banjo, accordion, and even spoons. The five-female group, when they aren’t rocking, are involved with several charities including the Second Harvest Food Bank, Make A Wish Foundation, Nashville Humane Association, Women Rock For The Cure, and YWCA Nashville.
These talented local bands create an original sound that will seep into your soul and make you want more. I haven't heard of anyone doing an official "RED SOLO CUP PARTY" since Toby Keith came out with the cool song,so I decided to do it on Sunday Funday for Singer Songwriters!!
If you'd like to be apart of something cool here are the details:
BRING CUPS, RED SOLO CUPS THAT IS. We are asking folks to bring in a pack/sleeve of red solo cups (16 or18 oz) if you do then you get to drink FREE draft beer all day long. We will have few domestic kegs to float and we will also have craft beers like Shock Top, Fat Tire and more to choose from.
What happens if you don't bring a pack of red solo cups? That's cool just bring $10.00 which includes all you can drink drafts. Don't wanna drink draft? That's CooLtoo $5.00 cover and pick from our great selection of beers.

The Hate Cancer Music Event at Mercy Lounge presented by Lightning 100, the Nashville Scene and Carnival Music is scheduled for Thurs., Aug. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Artists set to perform include Pageant, The Granny Whites, Madeleine Slate, Orleck, Mando Saenz, Jen Foster and surprise guests. The Granny Whites have played with several national acts, Jen Foster, Hunter Valentine, and Bev McClelland and more.
Since the inception in early 2011 THE GRANNY WHITES have been performing in and around Nashville at several hotspots including 12th and Porter, Exit/In, 3 Brothers, Kimbros, Lipstick Lounge, Thats Cool, Mad Donnas, Give Me a Break Radio Hour, Red Rooster Music Row, Losers Music Row, Hotel Indigo, and more!
With a distinctive panache like no other, the combination of these musicians creates an intelligent and multilayered production. The genre of this band has no title and no boundries. It exists only in their unique ability to add a twist of "Granny" to every song they perform.
Charities: The Grannies believe in making a difference and are activiely involved in several charities and charitable events including:
