The Grass Gypsys are two modern day storytellers spreading a positive message of love, peace and freedom across the United States. With backgrounds in jazz, rock, afro-beat and funk, their music draws from their roots while presenting a strong folk element.

Biography

The Grass Gypsys released their debut album “Legends, Myths and Fairytales” in September of 2006, and then hit the road on their “Chasing Summer Tour” starting in their hometown of Boston, MA and stopping in to New York City, Memphis, TN, Austin, TX, Santa Fe, NM, Phoenix, AZ , San Diego and LA, CA. Justin’s sensitive and inventive guitar playing is in a class of its own and Colleen’s sultry vocals have been compared to Natalie Merchant and Norah Jones.

After spending the Winter in Southern California performing in such venues as the Rainbow Room and the Airliner in Los Angeles, and recording new music in San Diego as well as garnering rave reviews and being showcased in the Acoustic Alliance Best of San Diego Showcase, the end of March saw them set off on their "Travelin' Making Music" Spring tour, which took them back through the Southwest, hitting spots like Tucson and Phoenix, Az, Truth or Consequences, Albuquerque, and Santa Fe, Nm, Austin, Tx, Hot Springs, AK, Memphis and Nashville, TN, and Charlottesville, VA.

Now, back in Boston for the summer, The Grass Gypsys are ready to perform their eclectic blend of original material and select covers in front of a variety of audiences throughout Boston and New England.
