Bio

Known for their unique music videos and tongue-in-cheek nerd rock, The Great Heights Band was formed in 2014 by singer/guitarist Neal Karkhanis and drummer Paul Martinez in the Baltimore/DC suburbs as a fun project with no real ambitions. After sharing "Portland" and "Stay" on their personal Facebook pages, TGHB began to be offered shows as the opening act for national touring artists. Soon after, Karkhanis and Martinez were joined by Owen Brinser (bass) and Linette Gonzalez (keys/vocals) to record and release the band's debut EP, "Weird Thoughts", in the summer of 2014.

The EP and the polished Wes Anderson-style one take music video for "Portland" elicited the interest of Jeremy Weiss at CI Records (The Pink Spiders, The Juliana Theory, August Burns Red, Texas in July, Carousel Kings) and the band was quickly offered a record contract within just a few months of its formation. The band's full length label debut, "Songs in Eastern Standard Timing", was released by CI Records in October 2015.

In 2015 and 2016, TGHB toured regularly around the United States and performed at festivals like Launch Music Conference & Festival, the Dewey Beach Music Conference, and the Milwaukee Summerfest. Producer/singer/guitarist Eric Taft officially joined TGHB on the Launch Tour in 2015 during an impromptu interview. In 2016, Gonzalez left the band and TGHB remains a quartet.

The band's forthcoming sophomore album, entitled "rad-pop.", is due out in the spring of 2018 via CI Records.
