The Greener The Better

The Greener The Better

BandRockPop

We love our music and we hope you love it too. We are a pop rock piano band from a town we hate and are ready to travel the world playing the songs we wrote in our basement.

Biography

The Greener the Better was formed in January 2008 by Thomas Freckleton and Drew Kirk. After playing music in local bands, they wanted to start something new and different. The Greener the Better allowed them to create a band whose music sent them in a new direction by focusing on the drums and piano. In February 2008 Jeremy Eurto, of the now defunct Nothing Surrounds Me, joined the band. With Jeremy on bass, The Greener the Better flourished and the trio began to play local shows in their hometown. In January 2009 the band recorded their first album, an eleven song EP titled “Boy I’m A Mess.” It was recorded mixed and mastered in Fresno California with producer Joel Piper, at Joel Piper Recording Studio. They released their debut April 24th in their hometown with a 300 plus head count at the show.
They recently purchased a 15-passenger van and with the support of family and friends the band has currently planning a tour of California and the surrounding states winter 2009 with help of a new booking agent. They plan to tour indefinitely.

Oh, The Problems I Can Dig

Written By: Thomas

Oh, The Problems I Can Dig
It’s taking a tole
And I could already see it coming
Today cannot wait, something has to be done
For this to go away, for this to go away

I’ll be the one to make and break
All the problems that I dig
As far as it goes with who what and when
This place is dead to me
So this is the end

Listen let go
Let the water run in/ the water runs thin
Breathe in not out
Let the fault take you in
The first is the worst
But the end doesn’t have to be so bad

Take this coin but don’t make a wish
I’ll see you at the end
Back and forth
This story goes
Just to save your breath
Just save your

Like A Bird With Four Wings

Written By: Thomas

Like A Bird With Four Wings
You’re like a bird with four wings
A knife that cannot harm a thing of life
A game that has no cheats
A door that has no creeks

‘Cause I can’t break like I’ve done before
And I know it’s all the same you say
We go to you we all know your games
Tonight
Shake me down before you realize
That you know to well

I just a few more to say
So come let’s sing
Sing, sing with me
And I know

‘Cause I can’t break you down
Before we all know your games
And we say to you we all know your games
Tonight

Protect forgive and forget all of these things we left
And know that we’ll never tell
It’s all up to ourselves
Tonight
Shake me down before you realize
That you know to well

How am I supposed to do this?
How am I supposed to feel?
How am I supposed to breathe if you didn’t even try?

Confusion Left On Mute

Written By: Thomas Freckleton and Drew Kirk

Confusion Left On Mute

And I found it seems much better
Just to wait it out and do it later
And I know all the reason why I can’t explain myself
And I know she knows, I’ll find a better place
And I know she knows, I’ll do it once again
And I’ll find a reason, I can’t explain myself
And I know she knows, I’ll do it once again
Someday

And it seems the anger is reaching to the boiling point
Of all its meaning
And I know you don’t like it when I talk to you this way
And I know she knows, I’ll find a better place
And I know she knows, I’ll do it once again
And I’ll find a reason, I can’t explain myself
And I know she knows, I’ll do it once again
Someday

And I knew the first step
You don’t even care it all she said, It’s too late
You seem to regret it all the way, It’s too late
So what is the point to call she said, away
Oh. Oh. Oh.
And I know she knows, I’ll find a better place
And I know she knows, I’ll do it once again
And I’ll find a reason, I can’t explain myself
And I know she knows, I’ll do it once again
Someday

And I found it seems much better
Just to wait it out and do it later (do it later)
And I know all the reasons “JUST TO WAIT IT OUT GO”

Boy I’m A Mess

Written By: Thomas Freckleton and Drew Kirk

Boy I’m A Mess

Lights, they stream and gleam so good
Everywhere we go
Boy, I’ve seen you go
Go down wrong roads
Don’t let ‘em control you
I said boy do you really have to be so sad

And now I’m making up for all the things I gave up
And how that ticking clock will tick away to change us
I’ve fallen from the tree
The ground will break beneath me
And If I tried to climb back up
Well would you save me
And you know
That I do
Walk away from the news
I can learn to remain
Turn off the TV
And take the stage

The pages on the shelf remind me so much of you
This picture perfect life is just some thing I cannot do
And all the ways, I can’t escape
I can’t complain, I’ve made mistakes too

Well are we victims of the outcome we created
Cause boy I’m such a mess
This is not what I made it
