The Green Olive

The Green Olive is a band formed at the wrong side of the Channel. It has been seven years playing rock, drinking hundreds of beers, driving thousands of miles, and especially the story of dour friends . The current line up was set in September 2002 with Martin O. (vocals, guitar & piano), Albé (drums), pef (bass) and Joseph (guitar, trombone). The four young dudes play their first gigs in pubs, in front of their friends. With their first fees, they manage to get into studio to record three songs that will appear on their first EP. That’s in January 2003.They play their first gigs on real stages that year. In January 2004 they record three other songs to complete the Valuable Edition EP that is released in March 2004. Meanwhile they get along with many bands, they win a contest and play at the Elysée Montmartre in Paris. They get a couple of reviews on the web after that show. They write new songs and set them up with more and more gigs. It’s now time for them to cross the line. They decide to spend the summer 2005 recording their first album with Vincent Muzotte, in Annonay. The final mix is done in November and it is mastered at the Turtle Tone Studio in New York City. The album is officially released on the 24th of January 2006, with a gig at the Marquise, the famous electro/rock club in Lyon. The boat is about to sink while almost 350 people are dancing and shouting in a crazy atmosphere. After hav..ng shaken up mult..ple venues for more than three years, The Green Ol..ve is getting into the swing of things and stepping forward.
