Bio

The first song on our debut album typifies our approach to music. It's called "Kalahari". The lyrics are about an off-duty oil worker we met when we were playing a festival in Sarawak, Malaysia.

He was working on an oil rig in the middle of the South China Sea and he had a month off to live it up on dry land. He spent half the month in bars in Patpong, Bangkok, part of which included a 5 day binge of Jack Daniels and Viagra. He spent the other half of the month at a little hotel in Miri, because they have an all-girl Philipino top 40 act that play all night and then "accept gifts" in the early hours of the morning. The act is called "Kalahari".

The song is some sort of West African groove with a straight up funk section at the end. Audiences love it and never fails to get them shaking.

Our music is like that: it tells you a story and gets you tapping your foot. We're not trying to sell a particular style or image. Our goal is to entertain in the most universal way: engage with both the brain and the body.
