It could be argued that this release was 10 years in the making!
This release sounds like a band that has been playing for decade.
It has a tight sound of band members intuitively in sync with each other,who believe in their material and who have the musical ability to express it.
The album demonstrates a band willing to step out of a formulated pattern and to stand on their own music feet - not easy in a music environment thats encourages the familiar over the unfamiliar.
Written and recorded in Northland the CD is a great indication of local talent and a great incentive for Whangarei bands.

The Gridlock Project is basically Yimmy The Ox plus important xtras.The band basically began in 1998 when Yimmy,who had been living in Sydney Australia formed a working covers band in New Zealand which worked the local scene from 1998 until 2006.Then the band evolved into an Urban Ska band that wrote and released an album titled "And You Are" in 2007.A music video was released onto TV in 2008 to follow the album release.The line up has changed considerably since 2006 with the singer and founder of the band Yimmy the only original member left.2009 has seen the new line up playing to good local crowds and the band is currently raising funds for another Album and a return trip to Australia in 2010.The band will continue to play it's unique style of music and take pride in their loyal local following.The Gridlock Project is very much a community band appealing to a wide age group.
