"Genre? The Grommits don't need no stinking genre. What they do is totally unexpected, and completely unconventional, and it works."
-Tracy Knoop, Ted Brown Music
"They can't be pidgeon-holed... each song tells a different story. I only wish their album had their version of "Ignition" that they do at their shows."

Bio
As a musical collective The Grommits are virtually indefinable. Where else can you find an introspective rock guitarist, a brilliantly poetic emcee/ turntablist, and a classical concert pianist rocking out on the keytar?
Comprised of three renaissance guys, originally from Chicago, this eclectic Los Angeles-based trio has been performing together since 1996. With witty lyrics that border on ironic humor, energetic stage shows and music that defies genre, the Grommits are a refreshing breath of fresh-air in a sea of imitators.
Veterans of the cross-country tour circuit, the Grommits have travelled America playing at such venerable venues as Chicago's Elbo Room, Arlene's Grocery in New York City and Hollywood's The Gig.
Most recently The Grommits completed a multi-city tour of Japan to rave review. In Hamamatsu City the band was greeted by a packed house chanting "one more song!" at the end of their set.
JAQ, the multi-talented emcee, DJ and beatmaker recently scored the Showtime original film "Just Another Story". He also created the original music for the hit off-broadway show "The Bomb-itty of Errors" as well as scoring and co-starring in the MTV series "Scratch and Burn".
The Treblemaker also composes orginal music for film, as well as hauntingly nostalgic piano concertos. His musical influences run the gamut from Mozart to Dr. Dre.
Philip D. the group's activist guitarist and lead vocalist was recently featured in the magazine FLAUNT as a die-hard Whitestripes fan. He's also a die-hard vegan.
