"The Gudmen"

The Gudmen… Rock the shop!

- - Moff The Blizzards

"Derby Fest"

The Gudmen are the freshest and most entertaining band to ever come out of Kildare.

- The Budweiser Irish Derby Festival

"The Gud Guys"

The Gudmen are unashamedly Irish and completely original, never trying to sound American or resorting to covers.
- The Kildare Post

"Doing Gud"

Their lively beats are difficult to resist, they have played a lot of traditionally Rock venues.

While they may not have converted them, they were certainly accepted.
- Ciaran Mc Intyre Journalist

"A Few Gud Men"

The Gudmen are a great group and make the impossible possible by being an Irish rap group that you have to have respect for. There is no pretentiousness about their music; its just them rapping about what they know and what they have experienced and making sure they’re enjoying themselves while they do it.

- Stuart Sheedy The Leinster Leader

"Micks + The Mic (Irish Hip Hop)"

The Gudmen From Kildare, these guys have been paying their dues for years. DJ Lee (of RTEs 2Phat fame) produces for AyCee and P the Emcee. Favouring a more story telling style, but still able to bust the funk when necessary, their midlands accents combine to produce excellent results over a bed of familiar but clever samples. Anti suicide tune “Why” and kiddie rap slating “The Game” has been known to induce tears, but obviously for different reasons.

Bio

The Gudmen - Biography

Ok, this is the bit where we tell you all about - The Gudmen.

The Gudmen consists of 2 MC’s (that’s rappers to you and me) Ay Cee and P The Emcee and one producer/ DJ - Lee.

Ay Cee and P are both regarded as two of Ireland’s finest rappers. While you may recognise DJ Lee’s face from appearing on the RTE show 2 Phat with Ray D’Arcy and Zig & Zag. You may have caught him with Podge & Rodge too on A Scare At Bedtime.

They have appeared on numerous radio stations including, Today FM – Ray D’Arcy Show, 2FM – The Big Smoke, Spin FM – Soul Base and FM 104 – Open Mike.

Ok, right around now you’re probably thinking - “Ok, they’re talented and they’ve been on the radio but have they played live?” The answer to that, my soon to be new friend, is YES. I’ll now tell you where they’ve played and with who:

The Olympia, Dublin (with Coolio – remember him?)
The Pod, Dublin (with Def Jux recording artists Cannibal Ox)
The Village, Dublin (with Bay Area superstars Blackalicious)
Rí Rá, Dublin (with Def Jux and MTV star C Ray Walz & Aesop Rock)
Crawdaddy, Dublin (with hip hop legend GURU from Gangstarr)
Cuba, Galway (again with GURU)
Oxegen Festival 2006, Punchestown Racecourse (Campsite Tent with Jerry Fish + the Mud Bug Club, Declan O ' Rourke and The Walls)
Sky Venue - Portlaoise (with Republic of Loose)

They’ve also played loads of other places you’ve never heard of.
