"Wednesday evenings to be filled with Guilty Pleasures"

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

If you're looking for some guilty pleasures during the hot summer months and you're a fan of modern rock and alternative songs from the 80s, 90s and the new millennium, you might want to check out a Morristown-based band on Wednesday night.

The Guilty Pleasures will be strumming acoustic versions of popular rock songs -- and even a few country hits -- outside at the tiki bar at the Calaloo Cafe on South Street in Morristown from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Wednesday throughout the summer.

The band is comprised of Nick Fiorello on vocals, Kerry Drexler on guitar and vocals, and Tom Loguidice on lead guitar and vocals. By the way, there's no cover charge to see their performance. In the event of rain, the band will play inside the cafe.

Still working on that hot first release.

What do you want in cover band? Is it a well-rounded list of songs and versatility? Is it professionalism? How about a full night of entertainment and experience in the NJ scene? The Guilty Pleasures are an acoustic cover band that can not only do all of the above but can also rock harder than two acoustic guitars would normally allow.

The Guilty Pleasures have been known to deliver just what their name implies, good music with a little bit of something that everyone can enjoy. With a large song library and lots of energy, the Guilty Pleasures cover all the bases from current hits, to 80’s pop to 90’s rock, some country, hip-hop and everything in-between. The Guilty Pleasures offer a full night of fun-filled entertainment with a huge song selection.

The Guilty Pleasures are a combination of two of New Jersey’s local musical acts that have each had their fair share of success. Having known each other for over a decade, the Guilty Pleasures have a combined professional musical experience of over thirty years between the three members. The Guilty Pleasures in their present and past musical endeavors have shared the stage with such acts as the Benjamins, No Code (the Pearl Jam tribute), Pezhead and have opened for the Fixx. Their separate gigs have included many of NJ’s hotspots and colleges, including; The Starland Ballroom, the Stone Pony, the Saint, the Crossroads, The NJ State Fair, and in NYC: The Blue Room, the Knitting Factory, the Alphabet Lounge and Kenny’s Castaways. Colleges that they’ve played include Rutgers University, Drew University, Lehigh University and the College of New Jersey. In addition, members of the Pleasures have performed numerous weddings and private functions.

Before turning to covers, Kerry Drexler, the brainchild of the project, made his mark on the Garden State with his psychedelic, heartfelt and multi-layered folky ballads. In early 2008, he recruited singer Nick Fiorello and guitarist Thom LoGiudice. Nick and Thom had been making their own waves in NJ with the energized hard rock band Witty’s Crusade. Together, Kerry, Nick and Thom are poised to make an impact on the cover scene and are finding their way to a bar, college or event near you.
