The Halfsteps

First of all, our foundation is rock. Classic rock, hard rock, alternative rock, progressive rock, psychedelic rock etc. We infuse our already unique combination of guitars, saxophone, cello, and vocal harmonies with dirty funk riffs and skanky reggae rhythms. Our songs combine intricate compositions with tasty jam sessions and jazzy improvisation. Dandrews utilizes his classical training on the cello to develop entrancing melodies. Pajamarama draws from his jazz education on the saxophone to create captivating horn lines and solos. Apolline's French style is reflected in her creative singing style and harmonization. Dustin takes his bass, and he slaps it. Hard. He puts that shit in its place if you know what i mean. (He also plays it without slapping). Finally, Pepe supplies the band with a seemingly endless supply of energy. He keeps us together and puts everybody in the groove. We draw big influences from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, Jimi Hendrix, Rage Against The Machine, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Roots, Incubus, Bob Marley, Bach, Gershwin, Django Reinhardt, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Streetlight Manifesto, Incubus, and countless other artists.
