Bio

Turing up their amps as loud as they can and scaring women & children everywhere, The Hallow hail from Chicago and have created a hybrid sound of melodic hardcore and punk rock that will make you dance and bleed from your eyes -- both at the same time.

The Hallow have been building their fan base and touring relentlessly since 2006, sharing the stage with bands like The Lawrence Arms, A Wilhelm Scream and The Briggs. It’s no wonder that their first self-release, Seven Liers in Wait E.P. debuted number 24 on the top-sellers chart at Interpunk.com, the highest rank for an unsigned band. The record ironically contains 7 tracks, including a cover version of Dramarama’s “Anything Anything” which has received airplay across the country in the internet and college markets, even hitting home on commercial radio through WKQX Q101.1 as well as in rotation on H2, Q101’s digital channel. Recorded by notable producer Jonathan Clardy and mastered by the legendary Dan Precision (co-founder and guitarist of Rise Against, 88 Fingers Louie & Break the Silence), Seven Liers in Wait E.P. is a must have record for fans of AFI, Rise Against and Avenged Sevenfold.

According to Bob McLean, hard work is the main ingredient for the making of The Hallow. “We’re a fun band and don’t like to take things too serious but when it comes to writing songs and performing it’s the complete opposite.” he explains. With their DIY attitude and dedication the band is determined to turn heads and knock down the doors of the music industry.

Having obtained substantial success with their first self-release, The Hallow continue to write and record, teaming up with fellow Chicago punk rock outfit Love & Squalor to bring us their latest split release, The Lost Epics of Dead Masters L.P. out on Underground Communiqué Records. Delivering their horror flick inspired rock, with their terrorizing anthem for the underworld “Straight to Hell”, and the dark harmonies of “We’ll Be Gone by the Mourning”. The Hallow gives us an experience only seen by the other side.

The Hallow will be touring everywhere in 2009, so please lock your doors.
