There aren’t many opportunities to spend your freetime apart from making music when you are hailing from Dessau, Germany. Because of that the four guys in The Handshake Affair pretty early decided to devote theirselves to music. Right after they had released several tracks they set up a tour across the country. Since then they have played more than 100 shows and have built up a huge fanbase. In november 2007 as well as in october 2008 they won the “Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands” and played at the Munich and Hamburg leg of Taste Of Chaos Festival. Furthermore they toured Germany in 2008 and 2009 and in addition they played shows and tours around europe in august 2008.
With the release of their new EP “Safe And Sound” they are heading to a new direction. Their music now sounds more progressive, creative and independent than ever before. Without being calculable their sound is aggressive and epic at the same time. A new path in the jungle of modern rock music.

Man hat nicht viele andere Möglichkeiten seine Freizeit zu gestalten, als Musik zu machen wenn man aus Dessau in Sachsen-Anhalt stammt. Daher beschlossen die 4 Jungs von The Handshake Affair sehr früh sich voll und ganz der Musik zu verschreiben. Seitdem haben sie über 100 Konzerte in ganz Europa gespielt und ihre Fanbase stets erweitert. Sie spielten mehrere Touren im In- und Ausland und Supportshows (u.A. Taste Of Chaos Festival als Gewinner des Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands). Mit dem Release ihrer neuen EP „Safe And Sound" schlagen die Jungs nun neue Wege ein. Sie verleihen ihrer Musik einen neuen, progressiven, eigenständigen Anstrich. Ohne berechenbar zu sein, vereinen sie Härte und Eingängigkeit und setzen dabei auf Innovation. Vielleicht ein neuer Pfad im Dschungel der modernen Rockmusik.
