The Hangouts

When the Hangouts hit the stage in 2007, they're barely 16. Later at Reclaim the Streets they meet their producer who records their debut album. In the years following they become a household name in the A'dam punk/squat scene. Now, late 2010 they're ready for the next stage with 7 brand new songs!

They start out in 2005 - being classmates at the Barlaeus they get nickamed the "Barlaeus Punx", their first serious attempt to hit the stage is at their self-organized Kapstock event. In the first years they're with three: Bob, Aris & Niels. It is at a streetparty / protest named "Reclaim the Streets" in the spring of 2008 they are spotted by Jeroen, a long time producer who puts them up in a studio to record an album, which is released early 2009 and distributed by Plato/Concerto and sold & handed out at gigs. Later that year Bob decides he wants to stick to vocals only and the group takes on Bas as their new guitarist. To date they're in this line-up.

Between 2007 and 2010 they perform many shows - mostly in and around Amsterdam. DIY / free/ social / benefit / squat events, venues like OCCII, Volta, Queensday @ Minds, Pacific Park, Korsakoff, some gigs around the country and a first real "tour-with-a-van-abroad" through Italy.

They're ready to move to that next level and aim at more international gigs (UK/Germany), the poppodia circuit in Holland and festivals. Also they need a "real" label to release their newest set of songs as opposed to pressing up cd's themselves as they did with their debut album under the non-existent labelname "POMP Records"
