"The Haphazards CD release,"

Pam and Steve Mitchell have put together a tasty little treasure trove in this six song sampler, with morsels of Alanis and Reba sprinkled throughout. The lyrics are powerful and resonate with the times. I can’t listen to track “2” without getting misty eyed every time, and Pam’s rendition of Angel Flying too Close to the Ground is as classic and timeless as anything Ella ever did – so soulful, smooth, and poignant with that special “edge” that Pam has to her voice.

Don’t miss your chance to add this diamond to your “jewel” collection.

Bio

The Haphazards is the sound of two voices finding each other. In 2010 Pam Kennedy Boylan, a Texan, and Steve Mitchell, a Canadian, discovered that singing together seemed to create a third entity. The whole was greater than the sum of the parts. Like Gram Parsons and EmmyLou Harris. Like Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham.

And then came the songs. Passionate. Instinctive. Uncrafted. They came quickly, and every single one demanded to be sung.

In the 2011, the duo turned up in Nashville studios, laying down the tracks that would appear later that year on the debut release, The Haphazards. Boylan and Mitchell sang into two mics, recording vocals live, facing each other. Dancing, cracking up.

The songs were joyous. And then they were desolate. They hurt just right. "Man," uttered engineer Bobby King after one take. "That song just tore my ass all to Hell."
