A truly enjoyable CD.

We saw Jeff live in Chicago and bought the CD. We enjoy the CD as much as his performance. Great voice, great lyrics. - CDBaby.com
Thoughtful songwriting, beautiful vocals
Reviewer: Eric Jackson
'Clandestiny' is an amazing record! Jeff's musings are presented with vibrant harmonies that compliment his soaring tenor perfectly. Think John Denver, The Eagles, and America wrapped into one package and you'll have an idea of the treat you're in for as the cd spins. The haunting 'Where Wanders the River' really demonstrates what Churchwell's 'Clandestiny' is all about: thoughtful songwriting presented by an exceptional vocalist. - CDBaby.com
Transplanted from Tulsa, singer-songwriter Jeff Churchwell joins forces with Chicagoland musicians to perform and produce a crisp, clean album of folk pop. Clandestiny draws on a number of influences, but Churchwell’s articulate guitar playing and slick contemporary melodies, as evidenced on “Infrared” and “Where Wanders The Rivers,” stand out as his signature expressions.

Bio
The Hawk In October was founded in the late autumn of 2007, and its first performance was November 19, 2007 at the Subterranean Lounge in Chicago. The LIVE recordings in this EPK are from Chicago Acoustic Underground podcast, recorded March 5th, 2008.
The Hawk In October is made up of incredibly talented musicians.
Sarah Scanlon is a writer, lyricist, musician, actor and aerialist (trapeze artist). Sarah choreographs and performs aerial acts in and around Chicago, and is involved in local theater as well. Sarah brings excellent vocals and musicianship to THIO, as well as strong songwriting skills.
Chris Hopper has a performance degree in classical guitar, but plays all styles as though he was the original inventor. Chris adds incredible depth of emotion to the THIO repertoire.
Joe Nemec is a bassist with the soul of a producer, and finds things in the THIO repertoire that are a million times better after his suggestions have been heeded. He's mighty fine on his instrument, as well.
Kat Fitzgerald is a trained jazz drummer/percussionist who brings a new and invigorating feel to the material, most of which is folk and folk/rock. The resulting folk/jazz is extraordinary.
Jeff Churchwell has played solo, in an early duo called "Westerly," and in a 4-piece folk/rock band called "Melanie's Waiting," all in Chicago. Jeff is the songwriter and lead singer for "The Hawk...", and counts himself lucky to be playing with such talented musicians. Jeff is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he played no music at all for eighteen years. Coming to Chicago at the turn of the Millennium got him jump-started in a big way.
