THE HEARTBROKEN SOULS
Fred D Smith, you could say music is in his blood. Four generations of musicians, who share first and last names. Fred was influenced at a young age by his dad, a multi-talented musician that played guitar, bass, mandolin and tenor banjo. Fred started playing guitar and writing songs at the age of fifteen, and soon was performing in coffeehouses, churches, pubs and festivals in the southern Ontario area. He has also perfomed at "Hamilton Music Scene" events and at HMS award winning Beatle tribute shows. Fred has recently started recording his debut cd, "Sky Blue Eyes" with Christopher Clause of Cloverhill Studios and has his first track,"Factory Blues" completed. Fred also recorded three gospel tunes, that were produced by Dan Aiken of "Junkhouse" fame at his "Catherine North Studio. Raised in the small town of Winona, Ont., Fred's songwriting style is a draw back to the all night jam sessions his dad would have in the living room. When you mix oldtime country & western, rockabilly, 60's rock, blues, gospel and folk, you get what Fred likes to call "FOLKADELIC".
Maggie Ferguson, born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Maggie's introduction to music came at an early age, friends and family from down east would gather on gramma's back porch and sing until the whiskey was gone. When she was old enough, Maggie began singing with the local church choir performing traditional and folk music. As she grew up, her taste in music expanded to include Funk, Gospel, R&B, Rock and Blues. Maggie's prowess as a vocalist was soon making people take notice. She has worked with original songwriters such as Black Pearl, Owen Tenesen and Ray Lyell, as well as performing her high energy shows with her own band. Maggie brings a vibrant and exciting presence to the stage every single time she steps up to the mic and truly has the heart of a performer.
Kim Lister, born in Fort Erie, raised in Hamilton Ont. Kim's influences range from Judy Garland to Led Zepplin. Her love of the stage began when as youngster she would perform in school musicals and concerts, Kim's love of music and her vocal purity has given her the opportunity to obtain a wealth of experience in the music scene.Kim has also performed our National Anthem at Lansdown Stadium in Ottawa Ont.at a CFL home opener. Lately, Kim has worked with producers Bob Doige and J.P.Riemens at Grant Ave Studio recording with J.P.Riemens and Sonny Del Rio. She is currantly working on her debut CD "And the rain falls soft".
