The Heirs formed approximately two years ago in Austin. There are two members of The Heirs: Earl Vallery and Courtney Hans. After knowing each other for several years, their love for music reached a fever pitch, and the only logical thing to do was to join forces.
The Heirs have been influenced by artists such as Pixies, Grandaddy, Tanya Donelly, and M. Ward. In their respective childhoods, they enjoyed listening to Fischer Price record players. Courtney's favorites were the Gremlins story and the Bambi soundtrack. Earl's favorite was the Return of the Jedi soundtrack. Courtney's first tape was the Rain Man soundtrack. Earl's first tape was C&C Music Factory. Courtney's first cd was Amy Grant (Heart in Motion). Earl's first cd was Primus (Sailing the Seas of Cheese).
