Bio

The Hey Now are yours to ignore, but they’re not. And they shouldn’t be. With their infectious melodies, fetching lyrics, and a battering ram beat, they’re Toronto’s three piece rock n’ roll outfit that never quits and leaves you wanting more.

There's a common thread through all members, but with a 3 piece, every instrument is so distinct, it makes for a unique pop sound as individual influences burst through.

The Hey Now came together from two long term bands (Oil Can Boyd and Beep). The guys just wanted to play music for fun, whether it's in a living room, rehearsal studio or on stage live, without complications and ego.

The band’s debut EP, Louise, described as “an organic result of music being played for music’s sake,” was released in October of 2009. The album is highlighted by ‘Louise The Dawn,’ and its fashionable rock n’ roll commentary on misinterpretation, and ‘Yours To Ignore,’ a harmony dripping, carefree feeling tune, recently featured on Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Channeling influences from The Stones, and The Kinks to The Libertines, The Strokes, and a seemingly endless number of ‘the’ titled bands, The Hey Now play fun rock n’ roll - the way it should it be played.

Everyone’s out to impress, it’s time to be amazed.
