The Hideouts

The Danish festivals, such as ‘Spot’, ‘Vesterbro’ and ‘Roskilde’ have completely failed to discover the catching up-tempo indie rock band ‘The Hideouts’ hailing from Copenhagen. They deliver such a buzzing sound that makes it impossible to sit still even on the hottest summer day of the year.
But perhaps the band want to keep it to themselves in their hideout for a little bit longer, only just to break out with great force later on this year when they release their EP.

After listening to their three online-released tracks, there is every reason to believe that ‘The Hideouts’ effortlessly will go hand in hand with ‘The Kissaway Trail’ and jointly they’ll become successful in Denmark and abroad. The Song ‘Fire Out’ is the perfect continuation of 'Smother + Evil = Hurts' to rotate heavily on P3’s playlist on Danish National radio.

‘The Hideouts’ carry the same devotion to the art-rock-excellence of ‘Talking Heads’ as ‘Arcade Fire’ and ‘Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’ do. They also share the same talent for making clever chorus arrangements with a strong vocal (Thomas W. Andersen). ‘The Hideouts’ are a truly indie-pop gem that without any doubt will slip effortlessly into your consciousness.

The wonderful folksy British sounding song ‘Off On A Green Trek’ is another perfect example of their fiery song writing talent. It is so convincing that they should consider selling shares to a record label. It is inspired, but still more independent.

A concentration of strong determination, impressive arrangements and extremely high execution are all ingredients coming out of their rehearsal studio. It must be said that this spring greatest Danish surprise is ‘The Hideouts’.

This 4-piece band from Copenhagen tap into the current trends in melodic rock that sends nods of approvals to bands like Arcade Fire, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Shout Out Louds and even back to the art-rock-excellence of Talking Heads.
