"CD Review - Welcome: The High Rolers"

This project by the High Rollers was a "sure fire winner" in my book. I played it exclusively in my cd player 6x over a 2 day period. Its easy to get hooked on the great song selection, the tight vocals both lead & harmony, & the awesome instrumental capability of the band members. The project starts with "Hey Lonesome" & builds steadily throughout the project until the last note of the great Porter Wagoner song "Singin On The Mountain". You are left wanting more, so the only way you can fulfill that need is to hit the play button again. This project is like that potato chip commercial that says you can't eat just one. You need to hear this project several times to really appreciate the whole "body of work". This is a "winning roll" by the High Rollers!! I know my listeners will love it as well.

Bio

The High Rollers came together in the early summer of 2008 just by chance and circumstance when the banjo player needed to put some players together to help fill in a date at a festival in Alberta near her home town. At the first rehearsal they knew they had something special. "It was like we all opened up the same book to the same page when we hit that first note" says Robin Thixton, founder and banjo player of the group. We all have the same musical roots, we all share the same ideas about what it means to be a band as well as a shared vision about performing and putting on a show that your audience won't forget.

Members of The High Rollers are veterans within various music circles throughout the US and Canada, having performed on several national stages, The Grand Ole Opry, and other high-profile venues.
