Biography

The Highway Robbers effortlessly blend hooks and hits into a fusion of Rock n Roll, Alternative Country, Southern Rock, Honky Tonk, Americana, Rockabilly, Roots and whatever other label you'd like to throw in there! You can't quite put your finger on it, but you know it's good....Damn good....The Highway Robbers always put on a fun, raucous, high energy show that'll get you dancing, drinking and singing...just what the good doctor ordered.

Founded in late 2004 by songwriter, Shane "Sancho" Soldinger (guitar/vocals), the band of Highway Robbers came together when, Josh "The Bandit" Dobies (percussion/vocals), signed on, bringing with him another great Bay Area performer on bass and vocals, Earl J. Rivard, a.k.a. "The Shadow". Eric Friedman (lead guitars), an experienced mover and shaker in the Bay Area music scene, was the last piece of the jigsaw to join the band.

Refusing to be derailed by money and fame, the law, jealous husbands, media, creditors, autograph seekers and grave diggers, 2005 was a busy year for The Highway Robbers, as they hit the road for the first time, dipping into Colorado and Nevada (complete with vehicle breakdowns), played throughout Northern California and also released their much anticipated first studio album, "Robbers and Swills".
All looks promising for the Highway Robbers in 2006.With an impressive Grass Roots following, word of mouth, plenty of live shows, Radio Studio performances, iTunes, podcasts and radio play, chances are you'll find yourself along for the ride with the Highway Robbers.

Viva Los Highway Robbers!!!

Heartbreaks & Highways

Written By: Shane Soldinger

Heartbreaks and Highways and 9 kinds of hell, seperate my way to you...
Long distant whispers still ringin' like a bell, reminds me sometimes that we're through
Lord I'm so lonesome, the only world I've ever known...
My only chance I had out was you.
And as I roll along I still sing my weary song..
The only thing I have that's true...

Black tops and truck stops and honky tonk bars..
and whole worlds of nothing in between...
When there ain't nothing left than you know who you are..
And sometimes you ain't who you seem.
Lord I'm so lonesome the only world I've ever known...
My only chance I had out was you...
And as I roll along I still sing my weary song...
The only thing I have that's true

High Class Champagne Woman

Written By: Shane Soldinger

She's a High class woman, she's got a tall glass of champagne in her hand...
She's a high class woman, I like the way her shoes match with her bag...
She's sippin on that flute, drinkin' that flute, sippin' on that flute just as fast as she can..
Because she loves that stuff, and tonight her man, that she keeps on a leash, but he's got a mean tan..
And neither them mind as long as she's got champagne in her hand

Well she's just 22 and she's got more age then sense...
Yeah she's just 22 and she's got more age then sense...
She lives in L.A., she don't think about much, she's got time and money, that's paid for by her man, that she keeps on a leash, keeps on a leash, yeah keeps him on a leash
but he's got a mean tan...
and neither them mind long as she's got champagne in her hands...

Yeah I've had a woman love me once or twice...
One thing's for certain that it sure is nice, to come home in the evenings after earnin your pay...
she knows just what to do, she knows just what to say...
yeah to make you feel right...
make you feel good...
make you feel the way a man oughta should...
yeah and she's alright as long as she's got champagne in her hand

Yeah you better believe that woman's got champagne in her hand
