The best kept secret in music
Press
The Hillary Early Love Explosion (hope you brought your plastic smocks) took the stage next, flipping the place over with their music. Y’alltenative or alternative folk, whatever the going term is, these guys did a great job. I loved the original take on “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley. Their own stuff was untouchable, and the funky, sassy, jazzy folk rock they gave the Liquid Lounge really set it off. - Emergenza fanzine

Bio
This group is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Hillary Early. Essentially a folk writer, Hillary Early writes songs reminiscent of Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, or John Hartford, but with a dynamic musical setting which jumps from Texas Roadhouse to dixie Jazz, to P-funk style anthems. The rhythm section of the band is a crack ensemble of some of the most highly skilled young musicians the DFW area has to offer. Mind blowing guitar solos reminiscent of Alan Holdsworth or John Scofield, funky electric bass solos and non-stop grooves are the norm in this group. This is the sort of act that other musicians tend to gravitate towards, to stare wide eyed at the undeniable star-power shared by the group. Lovers of good music, which lands somewhere miles off the radar of contrived, canned radio pop will not be able to resist the raw stylings of the Hillary Early Band.
