""Impressive Debut CD""

"This Baltimore husband and wife team of Cat and Larry Levy have created an impressive debut CD with "Homesick From The Grave". A pretty simple formula; Cat sings and did the cover art, and Larry plays his guitars and writes the words and music (he sings on one as well.) They are doing a sort of folkish homemade art pop here. Though they admirably don't seem to be aiming at any specific reference points; in various places this brings to mind: early Roches, Throwing Muses, Current 93, Sorrow, Belly, and The Shaggs, without sounding much like any of them." - George Parsons, Dream Magazine

""Captivating! Enthralling!""

"Interesting new-folk, cool, dark and very mellow. Acoustic girl-goddess rock strangeness. Captivating! Enthralling!" - Hybrid Magazine

""Interesting and unique recording""

"Just when you think you aren't going to hear anything new, unique, you hear a few in one week. This CD is one of those. I can't even begin to give you comparisons because to my knowledge there aren't any. This is an intersting and unique recording!" - Amy Lotsberg, Producer, Collected Sounds

Homesick From The Grave (Debut CD -2005)
"Girl In A Cube" (Streaming/radio airplay)
"About This Girl" - (CD release 2006)

"About This Girl", The Histrioniks second CD redefines the band as they move away from acoustic folk and turn toward hard-hitting rock. They retain their darkness but having been to the edge they move a little more toward the center this time out. Their songs are strong, lyrical and layered and with the addtiion of drums and bass they quite simply - rock! While their sound remains unique there are elements of B-52's. Blondie, Ramones, The Who, Garbage, The Donnas, Southern Culture On The Skids and Cocktail Slippers in their music.

Homesick From the Grave, The Histrioniks debut CD has been described as: "Interesting new folk; cool, dark and very mellow. Acoustic girl-goddess rock strangeness. Cativating! Enthralling!", says the panel of four at Hybrid Magazine.
The Histrioniks are an eclectic mix of folk, 60's renaissance, rock, spoken word and instrumental. It is this variety that makes them unique along with their minimalist approach; vocals and guitars.
They began in the summer of 2004 as an acoustic duo. Cat sang and danced for the Baltimore based surf/instro band, The Swiv-o-matics while Larry played drums. The band recorded 3 CD's and is well known and respected in the surf/instro scene.
Histrionik influences range from Donovan, The Jefferson Airplane, Loudon Wainwright, Garbage, Leonard Cohen, and a host of others yet their music sounds very little like any of them. "Homesick From The Grave", their debut Cd, draws much of it's inspiration from an old Get Smart epsiode where Max, agent 86, fakes his own funeral and waits in the wings to see who attends and the degree of their suffering.
