BandRockAlternative

The Hollow Point is a well balanced yet diverse emotionally charged rock band on a very rapid rise in the Midwest. With a mix of cajones, talent, energy, intellect and originality they stand out in today's blending music scene.

Biography

The story begins in 2002 when multipurpose musician/composer Kevin Kildahl (Vocals/Guitar) met classic rock inspired guitarist Neil Raymo (Guitar). The differences in styles and influences instantly began to mesh and create an aggressive and unique duel guitar combination. The two musicians were without a doubt, destined to create something powerful together. The only question was, who else would complete the full sound necessary to take it to the next level? They would spend the next three years honing their skills, developing new music and playing with countless different musicians searching for the right pieces to the puzzle.

Everything finally began to come together in December of 2005. They hooked up with Nick Lee (Bass Guitar) who brought a progressive funk influence to the band, giving a very unique low end sound to the aggressive guitar riffs already in place by Kevin and Neil. Just two months later they would cross paths with Brian Liggett (Drums) who had played in more than 20 bands since graduating from Music Tech in the early nineties. He brought a diverse, intricately based style of talent and knowledge to the table and had something instantly in common with the band. Both were searching for the right musicians to grow with and both had realized that the search was over.

Within just a single month, the band had developed their sound to a new level that none of them had ever experienced before. Anxious for people to hear what they had created, they automatically started to make a name for themselves by playing shows all over the Twin Cities and in many parts of Wisconsin.

In the last six months, The Hollow Point has become a rapidly growing band with the potential to stand out as one of the greater bands of the Midwest. With an emotionally charged rock music style and a passionate stage presence, the band projects enough intensity to kick you in the face and at the same time enough intellect to challenge the mind. When listening to the band live it’s tough to put a finger on how to describe the band’s sound, but it’s easy to lose yourself in it. With captivating vocals and lyrics compelling enough to inspire, The Hollow Point is a band that you can’t pass up the opportunity to see live when they come to a venue near you!

Lyrics

Disbelief

Written By: Kevin Kildahl

Instead of going straight to the source,
I used an intermediary.
I conjured up what I felt deep inside just to be,
just to be turned away.
Feeling I should second guess before I let go of this.
If I don't I won't ever know,
whether or not she was right or wrong.

I don't believe in what she said,
so I'll find out for myself.
I don't believe in what she said,
so I'll take matters into my own hands.

My own hands.

Maybe this is just a test,
to see if I could swallow my pride.
Take another hit, instead of lie to myself deep inside again.
Instead of run from the truth that I keep from you.

I don't believe in what she said,
so I'll find out for myself.
I don't believe in what she said,
so I'll take matters into my own hands.

Into my own hands.

The Pacifist

Written By: Kevin Kildahl

So much for reason it went on vacation,
and hasn't returned since you found new consolation.
You used to be able to think for yourself,
not persuaded by one-sided ignorant views.

So can you not see that your views have been twisted?
Giving into compromise every time it is insisted.

Now are you aware of what's been done?
Do you like who you've become?
You need to take back a little selfishness,
before you come undone tonight.

So easily corrupted, pushed this way and that.
You're pulled to a corner where you passively sat.
You tried to fight back but backed down after all.
Could there be a thread of hope left in you now?

Can you not see that your views have been twisted?
Giving into compromise every time it is insisted.

So are you aware of what's been done?
Do you like who you've become?
You need to take back a little selfishness,
before you come undone tonight.

Before you come undone and lose all that you've won.

Debilitated

Written By: Kevin Kildahl

Counting days that pass us by, withering and soon to die.
Watching countless hours add up, wondering how much more can come.
Confiding time will soon prevail and that my mind will slip away.
Fading on for far too long.
Winding down until it comes.

Endless hours, time devours through the night.
Who will win this time?
Soon it comes, the light of dawn.
Debilitated we'll strive to press on.

What measure should I take for this downward spiral to break?
Should I even try to withstand? Cause it's not so easily damned.
Longing only for a way to subside the sun and the day.
Fade away, breach the day.
Fade away, bring the shade.

Endless hours, time devours through the night.
Who will win this time?
Soon it comes, the light of dawn.
Debilitated we'll strive to press on.

Rest in peace.
