A Young Midwest band with huge potential
Emotionally charged rock music

The Hollow Point is a very talented, aggressive four piece rock band out of Saint Paul, Minnesota. They manage to convey a hard driving modern alternative sound that is intelligent as well as emotional. Their bio puts it well when they say, "The band projects enough intensity to kick you in the face and at the same time enough intellect to challenge the mind."

The band features the standout vocals of lead singer Kevin Kildahl whose voice, in my opinion bears an uncanny resemblance to that of Brandon Boyd of Incubus. You can hear influences of early Incubus in their music as well. Kildahl and guitarist Neil Raymo have been playing together since 2002. In late 2005 the pair teamed up with bassist Nick Lee and drummer Brian Liggett. Almost immediately after, the band began performing shows all over the twin cities and Wisconsin.

This is a great young band with tons of potential, look for them to taking the midwest by force in the very near future. For more about "The Hollow Point" visit their Myspace page at: www.myspace.com/hollowpointmusic

Bio

The story begins in 2002 when multipurpose musician/composer Kevin Kildahl (Vocals/Guitar) met classic rock inspired guitarist Neil Raymo (Guitar). The differences in styles and influences instantly began to mesh and create an aggressive and unique duel guitar combination. The two musicians were without a doubt, destined to create something powerful together. The only question was, who else would complete the full sound necessary to take it to the next level? They would spend the next three years honing their skills, developing new music and playing with countless different musicians searching for the right pieces to the puzzle.

Everything finally began to come together in December of 2005. They hooked up with Nick Lee (Bass Guitar) who brought a progressive funk influence to the band, giving a very unique low end sound to the aggressive guitar riffs already in place by Kevin and Neil. Just two months later they would cross paths with Brian Liggett (Drums) who had played in more than 20 bands since graduating from Music Tech in the early nineties. He brought a diverse, intricately based style of talent and knowledge to the table and had something instantly in common with the band. Both were searching for the right musicians to grow with and both had realized that the search was over.

Within just a single month, the band had developed their sound to a new level that none of them had ever experienced before. Anxious for people to hear what they had created, they automatically started to make a name for themselves by playing shows all over the Twin Cities and in many parts of Wisconsin.

In the last six months, The Hollow Point has become a rapidly growing band with the potential to stand out as one of the greater bands of the Midwest. With an emotionally charged rock music style and a passionate stage presence, the band projects enough intensity to kick you in the face and at the same time enough intellect to challenge the mind. When listening to the band live it’s tough to put a finger on how to describe the band’s sound, but it’s easy to lose yourself in it. With captivating vocals and lyrics compelling enough to inspire, The Hollow Point is a band that you can’t pass up the opportunity to see live when they come to a venue near you!
