"The Host Club - Tut Tut"

This four-track E.P. from Denver locals, the Host Club, consisting of (and stay with me here) Aaron Elrod (vocals), Adam Elrod (guitar), Tim Adams (studio bass), Nate Barnes (studio drums), Emily Gallant (guest vocals), Jason Webb (live bass), and Jake Cook (live drums), is full of comfortable melodies.

The title track, “Tut Tut,” is the only song that didn’t really stick with me. However, the soothing voice that complemented the vulnerable lyrics in both “The Falling Out” and “Reasons,” were enough to make me add this to my CD collection. The E.P. is soft and sweet, easily relatable, and a pleasure to listen to. - Colorado Music Buzz

"New singles by the Host Club"

by Jenn Cohen

Denver locals, the Host Club, have managed to make heartbreak sound happy on their recent two singles, “If You Say No,” and “Bring You Up.” Following in the footsteps of their four-track EP, Tut Tut, Elrod’s voice continues to have an innately soothing affect. There’s comfort food, and comfort music; this is definitely effective when you’re down. Always applicable to some stage of heartbreak that most of us have lived through, “If You Say No” says, “I try to scribble you out like a bad idea.” Yep. Been there. “Bring You Up” is my favorite of the two singles. It talks about that ever-supportive significant person who is willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy. The very catchy chorus of, “I’m gonna bring you up, I’m gonna make you high, I’m gonna make you smile,” will remain with you long after the song has ended. I keep all of their songs ready, you never know when you’ll need to smile in spite of it all. - Colorado Music Buzz

Bio

Brothers Aaron (vocals) and Adam Elrod (guitar) have enjoyed making music for ten plus years. Exploring their sound, they finally arrived at their best music to date. After introducing brother, Alex Elrod, who's ear for production completed the puzzle - the direction was chosen. Indie lyrics with pop music that strives to be catchy without losing heart. With influences that include LIGHTS, and Keane, their music is infectious enough to sing to, and lyrically deep enough to keep you coming back. They released their first EP in the Summer of 2011 and instantly garnered recognition and radio play in Colorado. Having years of live shows under their belt, they are excited to find new ways to present their iconic and original sound onstage. The Host Club is now in the process of recording a new EP slated for release in late fall 2012.
