Bio

THE HOT TUBE PROJECT is an Italian Rock Band formed in Rome in 2007, blending a mix of young and expert musicians with the aim to conjugate “vintage” sonorities with others of more recent inspiration.

The band is guided by the talent and charisma of Marco Quagliozzi, a professional Hammond-Piano player, enthusiast collector and expert connoisseur of Hammond Organs: he started studying classical piano at the age of 11 and three years later he started to play rock! Influenced by Jon Lord (particularly), Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Ian Hammer, he formed his early rock bands following and developing a pure “hard” style, exclusively bringing forward original material. He approached Blues music at the end of 70’s forming various local bands. In 1980 he was in D. D. Jackson’s band playing dance music. During the following 10 years he mostly collaborated in studio sessions for various productions. In 1990 he took part in the R&B band of Joe Jhenkins, a black singer from New York, playing with him in several Italian Clubs. In the same period, he took part in Mark Hanna’s band (an American rock musician settled in Italy). Since 1998 he steadily plays in Bootleg Band. Since 2000 he steadily plays in Bobby Solo’s band. He took part in several musical projects (both live and in studio) with various artists: Derek Wilson, Pippo Matino, Luca Trolli, Lucrezio de Seta, Orlando Jhonson, Charlie Cannon, Crystal White, Franco Vinci, Massimo Faraò, i Mad Dogs, Fulvio Tomaino, Harold Bradley, Francesca de Fazi, Stefania Calandra, Pomata Blues Ensemble, Mick Brill, SOS…
Anyway, the real essence of Marco’s rock-blues inspiration is in THE HOT TUBE PROJECT compositions, with his brother Mario Quagliozzi on drums, the singer Simone Valori, the bassist Francesco Alvaro (since 2009) and the guitarist Federico Labbiento (since 2011).

During the first 3 years of activity the band has recorded a CD containing 9 original pieces, with lyrics written in english by their great friend Mick Brill (legendary british bassist well known in Italy for over 30 years), attending various rock exihibitions and some important contests.

During live performances the band executes original pieces from the first album, broken up with some Deep Purple cover songs and other surprises...
