Bio

The Hounds originated in 2000 as the Southtown Hounds, formed originally by Jefe and Rigel. Through 2000 to 2004 The Southtown Hounds blended styles from funk, reggae, soul, trance, world, and rock for frequently packed bars and college parties. Through changing interests and schedules, TSH roster was changing constantly (rotating through different keyboardists and guitar players). In December of 2004 The Hounds acquired Charlie Parker and in April 2005, Curtis became the final member to join and solidified The Hounds line up. The Hounds are not just another jam/rock band. We strive on high energy, audience participation, and creative improvisation. We have an entransing stage presence within in the first notes played of any show, at any time, to every crowd. In June of 2005, just two months after Curtis joined the bad, The Hounds won the 5th anual OSU Battle of the Bands. The Hounds have an close friendship with some of the best regional musicians and often can be found having some of the "extended family" sitting in on horns, percussion, vocals, and guitar. The Hounds have graciously shared the stage with artists like Culture, Natural Vibration, and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe...just to name a few.
