Bio
Mark and Nick’s musical collaboration started back in the early 90”s. With Nick answering Marks’ call for help, when the current duo Mark was playing in had a drum machine malfunction. With Nicks’ drumming coming to the rescue the shows were saved. Unfortunately Nick had other musical commitments and could only fill in for a few gigs.
Over the next 8 years Mark & Nick played in various other musical identities only to come back together in 98 – 99 to form the 4 piece Jericho.
Jericho enjoyed regular work throughout the Southern Highlands and Sydney, playing clubs, with the main focus being weddings and corporate gigs. Highlighting with a wedding in Tasmania, and playing a 2 hour show with 4 days accommodation in a beautiful resort on Hamilton Island, Queensland.
In 2005 Mark left Jericho to pursue teaching, musical studies and song writing.
In 2007, armed with 30 original songs and an acoustic guitar. Mark again calls on Nick to help to develop a sound that will eventually become “The Humbletones”.
Deciding on a bare bones approach of an acoustic guitar, snare drum, wood block and a cymbal, the duo started recording.Over the course of the next couple of years the arrangements progressed to what was best to support the song.This included a full drum kit,electric and double bass.
Relying on strong song writing with intelligible lyrics and harmony with subtle grooves “The Humbletones” have released their first album "Humble Beginnings" available from their website http://thehumbletones.com.
