BandAlternativeSinger/Songwriter

Explosive energy, emotive lyrics, genre-defiant, with a philosophical bend: The Hunger Artist.

Biography

There are many people that have made me and I owe everything I am to them. Without the words of Franz Kafka, Bob Dylan, and Soren Kierkegaard I wouldn't bother to write. Without the Beatles my style of music might not be possible. Without those I love I'd be nothing.

I am inspired to do what I do; therefore, I do what I do and I would be nothing without the people I've met, the ideas I've read, and the music I've heard.

Influences; Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith, Joy Division, Bob Dylan, NIN, Prince, Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen

Lyrics

Marionette

Written By: The Hunger Artist

Hook up your strings to my mouth and make me talk for you
Hook up your stings to my legs and make me dance for you
Hook all your wires to my brain and make me think like you
plug all your fears into me and make me just like you

I am more beautiful on a string
hang me here 'til someone uses me

Pick up that wooden cross and take control won't you
pick me up, spin me around I'll put a show on for you
don't you know i'm a wooden boy for you
pick up that wooden cross and take control won't you

cause I am more beautiful on a string
hang me here till someone uses me.

Narcissus Way

Written By: The Hunger Artist

Staring at the mirror all in waves I swim
A bitter, self indulgent suffocation
I strike a pose I know so well
Practicing the images I show

I will never see myself
I can never be myself
i will only feed myself
and I want you

A parasitic home, I've found my self in you
feeding on the pain behind your smile
I let you host my pain for me
draining all the color from your eyes

Staring at the mirror all in waves I swim
A bitter, self indulgent suffocation
I strike a pose I know so well
Practicing the images I show

I will never see myself
I can never be myself
i will only feed myself
and I want you
