"ECE Touring’s “The Hunts” sign with Songs Music Publishing"

Richmond, VA (PRWEB) January 21, 2013

ECE Touring, a division of EastCoast Entertainment, has announced the signing of its exclusive artist, The Hunts, to Songs Music Publishing. The Hunts, from Chesapeake Virginia, will release their CD, We Were Young, on January 22nd, 2013 on The Orchard Digital Distribution Network. The album’s first track, “Make This Leap,” has already seen airplay from key market radio stations.
The Hunts consist of seven siblings ages 14-23 including twin sisters Jenni and Jessi and five younger brothers Josh, Jonathan, Jordan, Justin and Jamison. All seven Hunts are vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, well versed on guitar, bass, violin, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, piano, keyboards, drums and percussion. Jenni Hunt points to The Lumineers and Mumford and Sons, among many other contemporary and legendary artists, as influential to the group’s fresh, edgy melodic folk sound.
ECE Touring has been exclusive booking agency for The Hunts for eight years. Though the group is young, they are an experienced touring act averaging approximately 100 performances per year, to large performing arts theatre, college and festival audiences nationwide. The deal with Songs Music Publishing grants the publishing company worldwide distribution rights for The Hunts’ music and could lead to the music being picked up for tv, movies and digital media. “We absolutely love working with The Hunts and are thrilled about this exciting opportunity for them,” said ECE Touring agent Katie Morris.
The Hunts are also passionate about music education. Every summer, they host a music camp for children and teens in their hometown of Chesapeake, Virginia. Last summer, the group collected over seventy (70) donated musical instruments and took them to Haiti to teach music to orphans in that ravaged island nation. They left the instruments with the children with a promise to return for another music camp. “It would be amazing if an instrument company or music store [retailer] could sponsor future events for our Haiti project” said Jenni.
ECE Touring has been working with performing arts venues for over 30 years, providing them with excellent, reasonably priced artists. Because we know how important it is to provide quality acts - we only promote artists that we know will sell tickets, get rave reviews, and have your audience asking for more. We proudly represent artists in all categories, from comedy and acrobatics to a wide variety of music acts. No matter what your target audience, ECE Touring is guaranteed to offer something that will keep them coming back time after time.
ECE Touring takes pride in our exceptional service. We understand that you need more than just a booking agency - you need a relationship. While other agencies simply book artists, we provide unforgettable experiences.

Bio

The Hunts are an indie-folk band from the southlands of Chesapeake, Virginia. Driven by a passion for creating compelling music, these seven brothers and sisters collaborate with one another to enhance their individual gifts of writing, composing and musicianship. Stringed instruments, surrounded by enchanting harmonies and thrilling rhythms, invoke an organic yet transcendent sound.

All vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, The Hunts have been playing music for as long as they can remember. Early on, the kids took on their own music personalities and developed diverse talents. Instruments include fiddle, viola, bass, guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, keys, accordion, drums and percussion.

The Hunts have toured the country and worldwide for over 10 years now, performing at countless festivals, universities and performing arts centers. In November of 2012, they released their latest album We Were Young, which was produced by 13-time Grammy nominee Mark Carman at legendary recording studio The Tracking Room in Nashville. We Were Young features 10 original songs, each telling its own tale of youthful memories, conquering fears, aching hearts and inspiring journeys. The album’s first track, "Make This Leap,” started receiving airplay from key market radio stations almost immediately after its release and was picked up by Milk-Bone for a national commercial in May of 2013. The Hunts were selected for Taco Bell's 2013 "Feed the Beat" roster, and they signed a 6-album deal with CherryTree Records, a label under the umbrella of Interscope Records, in July 2013.

The Hunts also have a deep love for music education and missions work. They host a music camp for children and teens every summer in their hometown. While on the road, they offer workshops in strings, fiddle, guitar and songwriting. In the summers of 2012 & 2013, the seven Hunt siblings traveled to an orphanage on the island nation of Haiti and organized a two week music camp for over 100 Haitian children.
