Bio

The IGive is a Jacksonville, Florida based Hip Hop emcee, spoken word artist, songwriter, actor and event host. In 2009, The IGive released his debut album, Rhythm & Poetry, a thought provoking and ambitious masterpiece, which took the listener through the mind of The IGive as he tackled everything from the loss of loved ones, the issues faced in the urban community, the need for unity and the state of Hip Hop music. Critically acclaimed and a fan favorite, Rhythm & Poetry spawned the hit single, "Remember U" featuring Aaron Jackson, which received nightly spins on WJBT's 93.3 the Beat Jamz with radio personality, Easy E. and was also featured in Treacherous the Movie and the accompanying soundtrack. Also from Rhythm & Poetry was, "Not Hate" featuring Kia Nicole, a soulful and infectious track that showcased The IGive's unique ability to craft songs that managed to be inspirational and conscious, while at the same time remaining rhythmic and soulful.

The groundbreaking success of Rhythm & Poetry and the album’s release concert catapulted The IGive to the forefront of Northeast Florida's independent artist community and in two short years, made him one of the most sought after artists for media coverage and performances. The IGive has had multiple appearances on CW17's YourJax Music program, hosted by Jake McCain, was featured in 2010's Treacherous the Movie and has been interviewed by media outlets like The Folio Weekly, EU Jacksonville, Access Duval, UNF's Osprey Radio, The LaVilla Project, BeDynamik, and German Hip Hop website, www.ugrap.de. As one of the most energetic, professional and crisp performers in the Southeast, The IGive has performed at some of Jacksonville's most prominent venues and events like The Karpeles Museum, The Emmett Reed Community Center, The Adrian Pickett Art Gallery, Endo Exo, Burro Bar, Square One, the Jacksonville Knights halftime show, Jacksonville's World of Nations Celebration, Jacksonville's African American Cultural Arts Festival, JanaMorea Bradley's Blak.Woman.Dynamik stage play, The Barack Obama Voters Rally, The YourJax Music Fest and Artists for (now) Mayor Alvin Brown. He has also taken his show on the road and performed at The Rent Show in Atlanta, GA, Natura Cafe in Orlando, FL, Speak(her) Box in Tallahassee, FL, the Elks Lodge in Mobile, AL and at the Savannah Urban Arts Festival (SUAF) in Savannah, GA, for which he also wrote and recorded the theme song.

The IGive recently released his sophomore album, DreamKillerz, another ambitious project which he describes as progressive and a departure from Rhythm & Poetry in sound, but not in quality. The IGive's goal is that DreamKillerz will introduce him to an even wider audience by fusing classic Hip-Hop with R&B, Pop, Rock and classic Soul. The album was produced entirely by SouthStyle Productions Music Group and features collaborations with Swordz, Francis, Monica Monet, Kemistree, KED and more. The IGive is also preparing for an upcoming role in the Blak.Woman.Dynamik…Reborn stage play, in which he is eager to show off another one of his many talents, acting. When asked what his aim is, The IGive answers, "To express myself in every capacity, be unlimited and show everyone who dreams, how to achieve their goals and block out the naysayers and "dream killers". With unflappable determination, limitless talented and a burning passion for success, The IGive will see his dreams come true and so will everyone else.
