"Faster Louder - Review from LOA National Tour ANU Bar Canberra"

"Their songs were well structured, written with musical sophistication and hinting occasionally at 80s Brit pop rock, not to mention some fleeting moments that threw J Geils band and Supertramp into reminiscence. Powerful, punchy and funky, the band played with an infectious energy that I recommend anybody to see in action" - Faster Louder

"Time Off Magazine - Live Review, LOA Tour 2006"

"The Inches hit the stage, and the Melbourne quartet clearly relish playing their bouncy garage-pop sounds to a full room. Frontman Andrew Furze and shoeless bass player Luke Bolton bounce off each other’s energy while Joe Cope attacks his Hammond organ with vigour across a set which draws tracks from their Trust Me EP and forthcoming album. Just when you thought the set had peaked with Triple J favourite ‘Undercover’, Jamie Slocombe from Love Outside Andromeda jumps on stage for a storming rendition of Deep Purple’s ‘Space Truckin’’ complete with a brilliant mid-song drum solo from Manny Bourakis" - Time Off Magazine

"Rave Magazine - Troubador Show 2006"

"Melbourne band The Inches lighten the mood with rhythmic pop rock of the classic kind. Think Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, big hair, yowling frontman, aggressive drummer, crazy keyboardist, and very shirtless bassist" - Rave

"Beat Magazine 2005 - EP Review"

This EP is strikingly original, The Inches encompass and glorify a musical era most other acts arent brave enough to touch
- Furst Media

"Beat Magazine - Live Review"

Guitarist/vocalist, Andrew Furze, is a force setting them apart from the Melbourne rock clones. They play as a unit and its hard to believe theyre only a year old. Theyve got the cohesiveness youd expect from a band five years their senior. Want to be impressed? See The Inches. Watch out Australia, this band is on fire". - Furst Media

Bio

The Inches are a 4 piece groove driven pop-rock combo from Melbourne Rock City. Together with their Swedish Colombian Svengali, The Inches have most definitely taken the path less travelled. The band formed in late 2004 around the song writing of singer/guitarist Andrew Furze and Writer/Producer Jaime Jimenez, recording their debut EP before they had played a single show.

The addition of close friends Luke Bolton (bass), Joe Cope (keys) and Manny Bourakis (drums) helped fully realize a dream of creating rock “with a touch of elegance” – utilising the psychedelic ambience of classic keyboards and an encyclopaedic reference of 40 years of classic rock’n’roll.

Thus it was that The Inches emerged in 2005, fully formed and eager to burst out of the Melbourne scene. They first hit the airwaves with “Undercover”, a song about world corruption, abusive powers and paranoia. An overwhelming response by youth station Triple J hoisted The Inches onto a national audience. Their explosive live shows garnered the 70’s influenced band a burgeoning fan base in a city gripped by an 80’s new-wave epidemic.

Fast-forward to 2006 and The Inches have signed to a major label, recorded their debut LP and finished their first national tour. The band’s live show has evolved to truly be a sum of the parts – four distinct, almost characters in a heady, theatrical swirl that can leave you confused as where to look.

Their music is a nod of the head towards 1970’s rock pantheons, like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Bowie and T- Rex, providing a canvas - the barest of bones - with which to construct their songs. It is fun, it is unashamedly pop-rock, and most importantly, it is honest.
