Bio

The Indegenerates are a trio of reckless youths from Hertfordshire, combining the sound of pop-punk and rock & roll with the DIY-attitude of Black Flag, the desire of Frank Turner and the commitment of, well, The Commitments. Growing up on a diet of Offspring, Jimmy Eat World, Paramore and even Bon Jovi, The Indegenerates combine all of these bands and more into their unique blend of hard hitting, catchy pop rock.

Seeing and hearing The Indegenerates are two entirely different things. A quick listen will make you think there must be at least 6 of them; seeing them will leave you amazed that three people can be so damn loud. A quick listen will make you think the girl that sings for them has a good voice; seeing them will make you realise the singer is actually a man with the voice of a woman. A quick listen will make you think they're a tight, polished outfit with some incredibly catchy choruses; seeing them will... okay, so maybe seeing and hearing The Indegenerates aren't entirely different.

Two years ago, the three working class kids that would become The Indegenerates were begging local ministers to be allowed to use their church halls to practice in. Cramming amps, instruments, a drum kit and three people into an old, beaten up Renault Clio, the trio have had quite the early existence. Over 24 months they've been fired for refusing to miss shows, supported the likes of Canterbury, Francesqa and Page 44, been thrown out mid-set for looking underage, sold over 1,000 copies of their debut EP Listen To This, been electrocuted by microphones, and played to over 8,000 people on the main stage of the Music on the Moor festival.

To say that it's been a mixed bag would be an understatement, but one thing that remains the same is their desire, passion and belief in their songs and their phenomenal live show. Described as "sweat and sebum, hormones and hairgel" by Trebuchet magazine, The Indegenerates don't believe they could ever be happy doing anything other than playing music, and that translates to a live presence and sound that belies their youth. If new single The Best Suggestion is an indication of the things to come, The Indegenerates could wind up living their dream for many years to come...

"Top quality. The highlight of the night had to be The Indegenerates, who put on a great set of pop-punk tracks." - 7 Bit Arcade

"This is a band who perform their material with energy, drive and passion; the songs sound even better in a live scenario!" - Kiss My Disc
