Discography

In December of 2006, David Baker (the lead singer for The Indiana Boys) released his personal project titled "David Baker Sings Traditional Bluegrass - The Girl of My Dreams". David chose to feature The Indiana Boys due to the extreme musical talent these boys possess. In the two weeks since the release, the demand for the CDs has been tremendous and a wonderful surprise. "The Boys" are hoping to begin recording again in February.

Bio

Darrell Duety (Mandolin) spent several months trying out different band members. Because none of the pickers seemed to have bluegrass in their heart, the band had slow start. Once they found a guitar and bass player, they began their adventure in bluegrass. Unfortunately, that first year they only played a few festivals before they chose to take a break. In September 2006, they joined several other bluegrass pickers for an informal jam when they met Joe flowers (bass). Hearing Joe's sound, they agreed they wanted to give it another go; However, after only a few months the guitar and dobro players decided to pursue more of a mellow style of bluegrass music compared to the more exciting upbeat style of bluegrass The Indiana Boys were becoming known for. After several months of auditioning pickers, The Indiana Boys finally found the final two missing links. First, John Watson (fiddle) joined and David Baker (guitar) followed. I am still amazed at how well their musical talents melded together. Finally, the band found the sound it was meant to have. In the first few months, they guys have worked together creating an unforgettable sound. They were featured at many festivals including The Indiana Fiddler's Convention and Carl Hammons Festival where Ralph Stanley II requested to sing one of The Indiana Boys' final songs for the day. These boys are hard driving, aggressive, energetic, entertaining, and fun. With each show, more and more people are asking for "just one more song".
Trust me, if you see that The Indiana Boys are playing, you need to make it a point to go check them out; Although, it won't be long before you'll see them everywhere!

The Indiana Boys' appreciate anyone who has a love for bluegrass, but some of their influences would be Flatt and Scruggs, Jimmy Martin, The Stanley Brothers, Bill Monroe, and all the other bluegrass greats who give them the songs they so enjoy playing. A couple of contemporary bands they admire include The Lonesome River Band, and Third Time Out.
